One. Just who is this Hidan and why was he in an abandoned building with someone who sounded weak and feeble? ...I mean, Madame Whittingfield's books said it sounded like he was in some cult...oh God. Sacrificing? What did I get myself into?

Two. Yuugao.

Lord and Saint Mary. So many things have happened lately, I haven't had time to recollect them all.

What's been happening [private-ish?]Collapse )

...And Iruka...I think we need to have a long, long, long, chat. I think we've been running around for so long that we need to know just what happened. XD

…Because I am a geek, I am going to keep a record of important stuff and interesting facts on swords, swordplay, and weaponry here in this post. Some of this stuff pertains to "me" (a swordsmith) and some of this may be helpful to you – stuff on how the swordstyles play out, what times they were used, play-by-plays, east vs west, books, so on and so forth. For the purposes of discussion here I am assuming that ES is approximately mid-18th century.

I will periodically update this post from time to time as I read more; I'll have a link to this post in the [links] component on Hayate's journal as this post gets pushed down so you can find it again. Have any questions? Poke me or post here. XP (Honestly, it's…like, really hard to know what to put here…I know all these bits and pieces, but I can't remember them all to put them here unless you ask me.)

...What. A. Week.

Finally have a chance to...just. Think for a bit.

Managed to escape from the Hyuuga estate (from the stories I hear, I'm surprised I didn't get lost). Talked to a Sabaku...but not much on Damascus steel, I'm afraid. And. Somehow, the princess, who not only has a most intriguing weapon...walks through walls. At least, that is what I assume; somehow she just emerged from behind a painting. What kind of people are in China, if...that is what she is like?

I do not understand nobles. At all. Well, unless they want to commission a sword from me.

And then Iruka and I finally met up again. ...Well.

Private to self:Collapse )

And Kisame. A pirate? What was Iruka thinking?!? (Fine, so perhaps he wasn't, er, much. Kisame sounds like a very persuasive fellow.) And, honestly, anyone who walks around at four in the morning for delivery is not sane. I'm afraid Iruka's going to get mugged or something. Which is probably why I thought about dragging him to Anko (and I know I'm going to have to drag him.) Fine, so he probably won't become an expert, but...at least he'll feel safer. I'll feel safer. (I also feel like following Iruka around just to see what he's getting into, because what he's getting into is very strange)

The dagger for that-priest-that-swore (Hidan, if I'm not mistaken) is about finished. I've been trying to remember if I've seen that circle-triangle symbol before, but I don't believe so. Haven't had a chance to ask Iruka though.

This week has been very interesting. Three customers, all very...unique. Makes me want to venture out of my smithy once again.

And tomorrow I shall. I'm getting very curious; perhaps it's all of the guests at the Hyuuga compound and the recent gala that's making things pick up around here.

Besides, I want to know about that Damascus steel.

Is there a saint patron for swordsmiths? If so, hopefully this patron saint would smile down upon this poor swordsmith and get him some work.

Times are changing. It's firearms and muskets and riflery now, and the guild trap isn't helping my line of work. Swords are turning into a thing of a past, much to my dismay. I don't get requests for broadswords or hand-and-a-half swords now…if anything, it's rapiers and sabers, from noblemen, which pay well but come infrequently.

I need money.

I need work.

I need to find the process for Damascus Steel.
